Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band BON JOVI commemorates the 40th anniversary of its self-titled debut with the digital release of BON JOVI DELUXE EDITION on all streaming platforms today via Island/UMR with a special 40th anniversary trailer. Additionally, the GRAMMY Award-winning band has announced the release of an exclusive limited-edition ruby colour vinyl LP on March 24 and limited-edition cassette on April 5.

The BON JOVI DELUXE EDITION includes the remastered original album and nine bonus tracks, featuring unreleased studio recordings and four rare live cuts. Jon Bon Jovi co-produced it with sound engineer Obie O’Brien, who also mixed the bonus material.

The expanded edition highlights the progression of “Runaway,” including Jon’s initial cassette writing demo, the band’s early rehearsal and an alternative complete take, as well as an extended version of their first hit featuring a powerful second guitar solo. Additionally, it includes an early version of “Come Back” with Jon’s vocal rendition of a guitar solo concept.

The live tracks were originally recorded during Bon Jovi’s 1985 Tokyo shows and were first released on the CD Bon Jovi: Special Edition in 2010. These tracks have now been remixed for the BON JOVI DELUXE EDITION and will be available on DSPs for the first time.

The limited-edition ruby color vinyl of the band’s original 9-track LP has been remastered from the original tapes. It features an alternate cover design, a high-end tip-on jacket, and an exclusive lithograph from an early Ross Halfin photo session.

The limited-edition cassette now includes lyrics and the original band photo from the LP’s inner sleeve, making it a complete package with all the album tracks, unlike the original U.S. cassette release.

Forty years ago today, on January 24, 1984, BON JOVI made their debut, launching their illustrious career. The album achieved double-platinum status and featured iconic tracks like “She Don’t Know Me” and “Runaway.” Notably, “Runaway” has garnered close to half-a-billion streams to date.
