SZA, a prominent figure in modern R&B, distinguishes herself through a vulnerable and casually poetic songwriting approach. Her voice skillfully navigates a range of emotions, marked by subtle nuances. Rising through a series of spaced-out EPs and noteworthy collaborations with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna, she solidified her position. Her success reached new heights with Ctrl (2017), an acclaimed Top Ten album that garnered five Grammy nominations, notably for Best New Artist.

These achievements were no accident. SZA garnered nearly as many Grammy nominations the following year for her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on ‘All the Stars,’ a chart-topping hit among the many platinum singles she has achieved both as a lead artist and featured act. Her intricate second album, SOS (2022), quickly rose to the top of the Billboard 200 charts, spawning four Top Ten hits, notably the revenge-themed ‘Kill Bill,’ which claimed the number one spot. This success led to SZA clinching three Grammy awards. Furthermore, on March 2nd, she was honored as the ‘International Artist of the Year’ at the BRIT Awards 2024.

In June last year, during her international SOS tour, SZA wowed audiences with four consecutive nights at London’s O2 Arena and shows in Glasgow and Manchester. Critics praised her vocals and the mesmerizing set design. The celebrated US R&B sensation is now gearing up for her debut at BST Hyde Park in London, and anticipation is building for her return to the capital.

Sampha and Snoh Aalegra have been confirmed to perform at this extraordinary event. Rising from a breakout star in the UK to a global icon, Sampha has significantly influenced contemporary culture. This south London singer, songwriter, and producer has crafted a remarkable career with defining works like the pivotal Dual EP in 2013 and his award-winning debut album Process in 2017. Sampha is renowned for his collaborations with industry titans such as Kendrick Lamar, Stormzy, Drake, Solange, Frank Ocean, and Alicia Keys.

After being mentored by Prince for two years, she has worked with top artists like Drake and Common. Her album “Ugh, those feels again” premiered as the top R&B album on iTunes, praised for delving into themes of self-love, independence, and optimism.

SZA joins an eclectic line up for BST Hyde Park 2024 including previously announced headliners Kings of Leon (30 June), Andrea Bocelli (5 July), Robbie Williams (6 July), Shania Twain (7 July), Stevie Nicks (12 July), Kylie (13 July) and Stray Kids (14 July), with more artists to be revealed soon – so watch this space!
