Cala Mijas festival completes line up with daytime programming and stage splits

Join us for a captivating journey at the 2023 edition of the Cala Mijas festival. Located in the picturesque Costa Del Sol, this extraordinary event will showcase an impressive lineup of music’s finest artists. Over three blissful days, attendees will be treated to a diverse range of internationally acclaimed acts such as Arcade Fire, Foals, IDLES, Moderat, Siouxsie, Amaia, The Strokes, M83, Underworld, Florence + The Machine, and many more. From August 31st to September 2nd, each day of the event will surpass the previous one. On Thursday, August 31st, the highly acclaimed indie rock sensation, Arcade Fire, will ignite the crowd with their anthemic sound. Foals, known for pushing genre boundaries, will deliver an exhilarating performance blending infectious energy and intricate musicality. Punk rock rebels IDLES will bring unapologetic intensity, while Moderat will mesmerize with their groundbreaking fusion of electronic and experimental sounds. Siouxsie, the iconic lead singer of Siouxsie and the Banshees, will transport the audience to the golden age of alternative and post-punk music. Rising star Amaia will captivate all with her soulful vocals. Other notable artists include Baxter Dury, Pabllo Vittar, Tamino, James Holden Live, Nicola Cruz DJ Set, Cala Vento, Cupido, Juicy Bae, and Prosumer.

On September 1st, the stage will be set for an incredible lineup of musicians. Indie rock legends The Strokes and M83 will mesmerize the crowd with their iconic soundscapes. Electronic pioneers Underworld and Acid Arab (live) will create immersive and electrifying performances. Punk rock enthusiasts can expect an explosive show from Amyl & The Sniffers. Lori Meyers and Cariño will deliver infectious melodies and uplifting indie-pop vibes. Palms Trax will take festival-goers on a genre-blending journey that will keep them dancing all night long. The diverse range of musical talent also includes Junior Boys, Charlie Cunningham, Delaporte, Compro Oro, Saoirse, and Yung Prado.

The second edition of the Cala Mijas festival will conclude on September 2nd with a diverse lineup of captivating performances. Florence + The Machine will deliver a hauntingly powerful show, while Arca pushes boundaries with their electronic set. Indie favorites Belle & Sebastian will evoke nostalgia with their tunes, and The Blaze will provide an immersive electronic-cinematic experience. José González will charm the audience with soulful folk music, and Metronomy will get everyone dancing with their infectious beats. Other confirmed acts include Duki, Baiuca, Ballena, La Élite, Ethel Chain, Judeline, Axel Boman (live), Helena Hauff, I. Jordan, Ketiov b2b Moxie, and Tom VR.

Cala Mijas fosters a sense of community by offering free day programming, making music an inclusive and memorable experience for everyone. Cala de Mijas will host two days of free gigs on September 1st and 2nd. From 12 pm to 4:30 pm, locals and festival-goers can enjoy performances at the two stages in El Torreón de Cala Mijas. The lineup includes Ben Yart, Vatocholo, Lord Malvo, Natural Language, and Rocío Saiz on Friday. On Saturday at La Playa, Aiko el grupo and Sistema de Entretenimiento will showcase punk music, along with The Deniors, Safety Trance (Cardopusher), and Playdoo Club (Robzzz b2b Internet Rat) representing rock from various locations.
