London rapper J Hus made a triumphant return after a three-year break with his single ‘It’s Crazy,’ reaching the Top 15 on the Official UK Singles Charts. Shortly after, he dropped ‘Who Told You’ Ft. Drake, which garnered a staggering 18 million first-week streams worldwide and secured a #2 spot on the charts. Now, the highly regarded UK Rap artist is set to release his third album, ‘Beautiful And Brutal Yard,’ on July 14th. The album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators including Burna Boy, Popcaan, Jorja Smith, CB, Naira Marley, Villz, and Boss Belly.

The last time the world would have seen Hus perform live was in 2019 at AfroNation Portugal, or more recently on stage for Burna Boy’s London show. As you can imagine the anticipation is high therefore fans would be pleased to hear the announcement of his tour for later this year. The tour will kick off at Dublin’s 3Arena October 28th and end with two dates at London’s The O2 on November 5th & 6th. Full details below for presale. Ticket Link Here
Hus released his second album, ‘Big Conspiracy,’ over three years ago, earning him a BRIT Award for Best British Male. His previous album, ‘Common Sense,’ solidified his position as a rap champion six years ago. In the time between these albums, he collaborated with renowned artists like Dave, Skepta, Stormzy, and Ed Sheeran on award-winning and best-selling records. Finally, ‘Beautiful and Brutal Yard’ marks Hus’s highly anticipated third album, named after a slang term for home in patois. The title symbolizes the duality of Hus and his emotions.
The album’s powerful comeback track, ‘It’s Crazy,’ takes the lead with its commanding presence. The lyrics express Hus’s desire for a peaceful life while questioning why others seek to see evil in him. As the production intensifies, Hus emerges, referencing ‘The Wire’ and expressing his readiness to confront his peers. The song comes alive, evoking vivid imagery of spit on the mic and fury in the headphones. Amidst the beat, Hus asserts his authority and reflects on the insignificance of fame compared to power. With lyrical menace, he reclaims his throne against pretenders. The hook emphasizes the duality within him as he holds up a mirror to the world, which has undergone significant changes since his last album.
Hus once again demonstrates his unparalleled talent for creating irresistible party music with his second single, “Who Told You.” Picture yourself on a scorching summer day in London, holding a red plastic cup filled with your favorite drink, as the infectious hook “who told you bad man don’t dance / who told you gangsters don’t dance” fills the air. Enter a world of dimly lit rooms teeming with beautiful women in tight dresses and confident men with their swagger intact. Hus’s energy captivates listeners, and just when you think it can’t get any better, Drake makes an appearance, effortlessly delivering his rap flow and solidifying the track as the undisputed summer anthem of 2023. This collaboration is a long-awaited moment for these musical giants. At Drake’s sold-out London show at the O2 Arena on April 5th, 2019, he welcomed Hus in a truly epic manner, inviting him on stage before 20,000 enthusiastic fans. It was an emotional and celebratory night for fans, to say the least.
Hus finds his way back to music, as evident in the album title ‘Beautiful and Brutal Yard’ where the acronym ‘baby’ can be spotted. Music is Hus’ passion, whether it’s brutal, beautiful, or a blend of both. His third studio album showcases this more than ever before. With various aliases like Uju Militer, The Farda, Ezmalay, and The Ugliest (named after his clothing brand), there is still only one J Hus.
