Denmark’s Roskilde Festival is one of the longest standing festivals in the game. Today, the non-profit festival-which donates all proceeds to humanitarian and cultural activities that benefit youth-announces its first batch of names to play next year’s festival.
Kali Uchis, a singer-songwriter from Colombia/America, and PJ Harvey, a UK veteran, will headline the upcoming Roskilde Festival. They join a star-studded 2023 lineup featuring Lil Nas X, Burna Boy, Kendrick Lamar, and more.

A diverse line-up full of young and progressive artists
The inaugural announcement for Roskilde Festival 2024 spans across multiple styles, genres and continents, also featuring Argentinian rapper Trueno, American hardcore punk collective The Armed, and Japan’s Violent Magic Orchestra.
Anders Wahrén, the Program Director of Roskilde Festival, explains, “Our festival has a rich tradition of progressiveness and a global outlook. We continuously strive to advance this mission by offering a diverse lineup that sparks artistic curiosity and features groundbreaking headliners, all within an exceptional festival atmosphere. Our goal is to inspire each of our 130,000 participants.”
Unfolding dreams for a better future
The Roskilde Festival, situated a mere 20 miles from Copenhagen, is the largest music festival in Northern Europe. It provides various camping options and has its own train station on site. Additionally, the festival showcases an extensive lineup of interdisciplinary art and activism, featuring talks, workshops, and performances.
Anders Wahrén describes Roskilde Festival as a highly communal gathering where participants address, exchange, cultivate, and ultimately experiment with dreams and fresh ideas for a brighter future. Music and art have a significant role in inspiring us to contemplate and embrace these innovative concepts.
