Take That is known for their spectacular live shows and grand productions. They have achieved a remarkable feat at London’s The O2, holding the record for the most performances with 34 headline shows. Their 2011 Progress tour made history by selling over 1 million tickets in less than 24 hours, making it the largest tour in the UK. This success earned them a third-place ranking on Billboard’s ‘Top 25 Tours’ list worldwide. To commemorate their 30th anniversary in 2019, Take That embarked on the sell-out Odyssey tour, consisting of 38 dates across 29 arenas and 9 stadiums, selling over 650,000 tickets.
Take That’s latest release, “Windows,” marks their long-awaited return to original songwriting after a hiatus of over five years. This beautiful track illuminates the journey from darkness to light, emphasized by the familiar falsetto that sets the tone for Take That’s new era. Filled with boundless energy, creativity, and an unwavering determination to push boundaries, this single signals an exciting chapter for one of Britain’s top-selling bands.
Windows offers a glimpse into the musicality of This Life, the band’s upcoming ninth studio album, their first since 2017’s Wonderland. Anticipate beautiful melodies, soaring choruses, and sophisticated harmonies seamlessly blending the trio’s voices throughout this captivating record, set to release on November 24th.
“The band expressed their joy in reuniting and creating this record in the studio. They described it as a liberating experience, shedding the old and embracing the new. The members expressed immense pride in the album, highlighting its ability to foster a sense of unity, both within the band and among listeners seeking connection in their own lives. They eagerly anticipate embarking on this new chapter.”
During the writing and recording process, the band refined their new sound in renowned music studios such as New York’s Electric Lady Studios and Nashville’s Historic RCA Studio A. These iconic venues have welcomed legendary artists like David Bowie, Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, Adele, Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers, and many others.
In 2023, the band has had an eventful year. They delivered exceptional performances, including a memorable show at KOKO in support of War Child and a sold-out headline performance at British Summer Time in Hyde Park. Their King’s Coronation concert was watched by over 12 million people. Additionally, their record-breaking musical, ‘The Band,’ made its big-screen debut as ‘Greatest Days’ in June, receiving outstanding reviews featuring Aisling Bea (This Way Up, Hard Sun) in a leading role.
With over 45 million records sold worldwide and 12 Number 1 hits in the UK, This Life, the upcoming album by Windows, carries forward the legacy of one of the most successful bands in British chart history.
Take That, a band with over 30 years of experience, refuses to remain stagnant. Their continuous evolution suggests a promising future for the trio.
