Valley Fest announces second wave of acts for 2024

Valley Fest, the best-tasting music festival in the South West, has announced Sister Sledge, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Tinie Tempah, The Feeling and The Skids will play over the 1st – 4th August 2024. The family-friendly event takes place alongside Chew Valley Lake, near Bristol which, some say, give it ‘the best view of any UK festival.’

To commemorate its tenth anniversary, the acclaimed event is going all out. The lineup for the second wave of performances features renowned artists such as Phil Hartnol (Orbital), Mungos Hi-fi, Gardna, Chainska Brassika, Sheelanagig, Supalung, Emily Breeze, Sam Lee, Florence Adooni, Songø, and more.

Tankus The Henge, Nubiyan Twist, The Nextmen, Huey Morgan, and Worm Sound System (Worm Disco Club) were some of the acts initially announced. Additionally, family favorites such as Junior Jungle, Doreen Doreen, and Beatles Dub Club will be there. Let’s not forget about Stanton Warriors, Fabio & Grooverider, and Rat Pack for an exciting rave experience.

The event is gaining momentum and likely to sell out again. It’s ideal for newcomers to festivals and families of any age. Moreover, being just 9 miles away from Bristol and Bath, it offers great accessibility for the weekend.

Luke Hasell, the founder of the festival, invites everyone to join in the celebration of our milestone birthday on my land. With a diverse range of music genres, from pop to rock, disco to DJs and more, there’s something for everyone. Families can expect a wholesome experience with activities suitable for toddlers, teens, parents, and grandparents alike.

The food and music festival offers a variety of delights, including feasts, cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, and an enticing array of street food. Most of these culinary experiences have been prepared using regenerative farming methods.

Nominated for the A Greener Festival catering award, our menu caters to all preferences and budgets. Experience captivating cooking over fire demonstrations, while enjoying ample opportunities for sampling. The lineup of chefs will be revealed in the spring, coinciding with the opening of feast bookings.

Arcadia’s Alchemist Playground has quickly become a beloved destination for families. During the day, it buzzes with energy as children and teenagers engage in play, creation, and construction. The Woodland Tribe will assist kids in building a playground using recycled military materials.

Once completed, people will enjoy hours of play and celebration on it. Moreover, popular welding workshops catering to all age groups will return. Expect new structures, swings, and much more.

At night, the renowned Afterburner ignites, delivering breathtaking performances filled with flares, flames, and cutting-edge excitement. Prepare for the electrifying return of the Lord of Lightning, unleashing awe-inspiring bolts of multi-million-volt electricity from his body—a truly unparalleled spectacle.

The stage is constructed using an Afterburner, a Rolls Royce jet engine, and encircled by metal trees and flames. The dancefloor features a central DJ setup, allowing you to revel amidst radiant faces in every direction.

In addition to the enjoyable activities of fun, feasting, and frolicking in lycra, the festival provides ample intellectual stimulation. Educational talks and demonstrations focusing on regenerative farming will be available.
